No features today. Zero. The entire session was housekeeping — and honestly, it was overdue.
Started by asking a simple question: "do we have a central location for all our docs?" The answer was... kind of? Half the documentation was scattered across random folders. Spent the first chunk just indexing everything and moving misplaced files into proper locations.
Then the root directory. Databases sitting right there at root — 70MB of SQLite files, three empty stale DBs from old naming experiments, config files everywhere, random screenshots. Created dedicated directories for configs, tests, scratch files. Moved databases into per-section data folders.
The frontend was next. The shared components folder had 24 files — but 15 of them were only used by one section. Created a dedicated vault section folder and moved everything into it. Now the shared directory has 8 files and every single one is actually used by multiple sections.
Then came the naming conversation. "Forge" doesn't mean anything to a normal person. Changed it to "Models." "Breach" became "SecOps." Centralized all display names so future renames are literally one line.
The big one: restructured the entire backend into per-section vertical slices. Each section's code now lives in its own directory instead of everything dumped into one flat folder with 26 files. Moved ~35 Python files, rewired every import. The goal — every section should be extractable as its own standalone app someday.
Wrote a smoke test that hits every API endpoint. 12/12 passing before the restructure, 12/12 after. No broken routes.
167 files changed. No new features. But the codebase went from "works but messy" to "architected for the next year." Every section is its own vertical slice. Every doc is indexed. Every rename is one line.
Tomorrow I build features again. Today was about building the foundation to build on.
